What We Do
How a drawing becomes a delivered part — the six steps every job runs through.
How We Work
From your drawing to a delivered part
Every job at Santosh Engineering Works runs through the same six steps, whether it is a first sample or the fortieth batch of a part we have been making for years. The sequence is what makes the outcome repeatable — and it is what lets us tell you, at the quotation stage, what you will get and when.
The whole route sits under our ISO 9001:2015 quality system, from the material test certificate that arrives with the raw stock to the inspection report that leaves with the consignment.

How We Work
Our Workflow, Step by Step
Six stages, each with something you receive at the end of it. Open any step to see what happens inside it.
Your engineering drawings, CAD files and technical specifications are worked through in detail — datums, tolerances, surface finishes, thread callouts and the features that will actually be hard to hold. Where a change would cut cost or improve how the part performs, you get that back as Design for Manufacturability feedback rather than a silent price increase. It is a conversation at this stage, not an argument at first-article.
You receiveDFM feedback and any clarifications, before pricing
Pricing broken down rather than lumped together: material, machining, any tooling or fixturing, and finishing. Where an alternative material or a different batch size changes the number meaningfully, you see both. The proposal carries the lead time and the delivery schedule, so it can go straight into your planning rather than needing a follow-up call to find out when.
You receiveItemised quotation with lead time and delivery schedule
High-grade ferrous and non-ferrous castings and raw stock, procured from suppliers we have worked with for years. Every consignment is booked in against its raw material test certificate and checked before it is released to the shop floor. Nothing reaches a machine before its paperwork does — which is what makes traceability at the far end possible rather than aspirational.
You receiveMaterial test certificates (MTC) on file against your batch
Manufacturing on sliding-head and multi-axis CNC turning, VMC milling, grinding and assembly, with tooling and fixturing set for your part rather than adapted from something similar. Related features are cut in as few settings as possible, because every setting removed is a stack-up that no longer has to be controlled. Dimensional tolerances are held to your drawing, not to a house standard.
You receiveParts machined to drawing, with first-off approval recorded
Quality control under our ISO 9001:2015 system: first-off approval before the run starts, in-process checks through it, and final inspection on a Zeiss CMM backed by a full gauge room. The point of checking through the run is that drift is caught while it is still a correction rather than a rejected batch. Inspection records and traceability travel with the consignment.
You receiveInspection report and traceability with every consignment
Packaging is chosen to survive the journey — machined faces and threads protected, batches identified and separated so goods-in can book them without unpacking everything. Dispatch is scheduled against the date we committed to at quotation, because your line is planned around it. If something threatens that date, you hear it from us early rather than on the day.
You receiveIdentified, protected consignment delivered to schedule
